Overview

The route follows an uphill field path towards Martinsell Hill, the site of an Iron Age Hill fort and then along a ridge to Giant’s Grave. There are good views across the Vale of Pewsey. After a steep descent, the route follows field paths towards the Kennet and Avon Canal. The towpath leads to the pretty village of Wootton Rivers. After a refreshment stop at the church, the route returns to the start following a path, Mud Lane.
