Walking along the winterbourne to Winterbourne Monkton then up on to Monkton Down and briefly onto the Ridgeway before returning over the Downs and along the Stone Avenue. Expect lovely views, hills and some stiles. The walk can easily be cut by a mile to 7.5m for those who wish to return directly to Avebury by cutting out the Stone Avenue.
There may be livestock en-route and sticks may be useful as it could be muddy.
Bring lunch and refreshments for 2 stops.
