Overview

Advanced booking for this walk is essential if you are NOT part of the Stockport Ramblers weekend away.  To book please contact the walk leader, Peter Worsley 07887 572002.

A varied 10 mile circular walk from Warton Crag Nature Reserve Car Park (SD490724).  Mostly good paths, stunning views over Morecambe Bay and Leighton Moss Nature Reserve on a clear day.

Route: Stiff ascent up to the top of Warton Crag Beacon.  Descend to Crag Foot via Dog Holes, across salt marsh to Jenny Brown Point.  Pass through Silverdale and Leighton Moss Nature Reserve, towards  Leighton Hall to the outskirts of Yealand Conyers.  Back through farmland and woodland paths to Warton Crag Nature Reserve Car Park.

Geology:  Please note the geology in this area is Limestone so paths could be slippery when wet.

Parking in the Silverdale area is limited especially on a bank holiday weekend so if you are on the Stockport Ramblers weekend away car sharing is essential.

If you would like more information about this walk please contact Pete directly (07887 572002).
