A varied 8 mile walk starting from Eaves Wood National Trust Car Park (this is a free car park). The walk follows country lanes and field paths to Leighton Moss Nature Reserve. There is a short section along the road. From the nature reserve we will follow country lanes passing Leighton Hall (home of the Gillow family) where there are stunning views, on a clear day, over Morecambe Bay to the Lake District beyond. From there we will follow woodland and farm land paths to Quaker's Stang and then on past Jenny Brown's Point. There will a short section along the rocky shoreline. Taking more woodland and field paths through Stout Wood back to the start.
Please note the geology in this area is Limestone so paths could be slippery when wet.
Parking in Silverdale/Leighton Moss area is limited especially on a bank holiday weekend so if you are on the Stockport Ramblers weekend away car sharing is essential.
