Past Rhoose airport to East Aberthaw noting the thatched Blue Anchor Pub dating from 1380 to the Nature Reserve of abandoned Lime work buildings, large lake and salt flats now a peaceful haven for wildlife and flowers through which the coast path passes and climbs steeply to Fontygary Caravan park. Continuing past quarries to Rhoose (option to leave walk 6 miles?) and following a variety of paths to Porthkerry Church and Park - opportunity for ice cream stop - before returning to Barry.
