We are the Manchester and Salford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a linear urban walk starting from Timperley Metrolink, and proceeding mainly along canal paths and partly through Sale Water Park and Stretford Cemetery, and through Trafford Park and Castlefield to Deansgate Metrolink. The walk is 8 miles, with escape routes at Stretford Metrolink (4 miles) and Pomona Metrolink (6.25 miles). The Trafford Park section of the path will be busier than usual owing to United being at home.
The walk is mainly flat, but there are some sloping sections of canal path.
No Refreshments available directly on route, but plenty of pubs and cafes at the end of the walk.
Packed lunch advised.
There are toilets at Sale Library about one and a half miles into the walk, where we will have a brief stop, and at places of refreshment in Castlefield at the end.
Timperley Tram Stop, Park Road. There is some roadside parking near the tram stop.
