A descent below the ruins of Abergavenny Castle is followed by crossing Castle Meadows and the River Usk to reach Llanfoist. There is a short steep climb with steps up to the canal and then a delightful walk along the towpath to the Marina at Govilon. Continuing through a picturesque part of the village we return to Abergavenny by way of an underpass, lanes and riverside fields taking in the pretty Linda Vista Gardens at the end of the walk.
