UPDATE
If current flooding continues we will take a diversion after Eastwick making a circular route along The River Stort towpath back to Roydon Station (and the walk length will increase to 8.5 miles).
*******************************************************
We will walk northwards across fields, following part of the Harcamlow Way, maybe spotting Buzzards. At Hunsdonbury we will turn eastwards then south, skirting the grounds of Hunsdon House, through a woodland canopy, dropping down, maybe seeing flocks of Skylarks in the stubble fields, then into Eastwick. We will cross the old River Stort, joining the Stort Navigation towpath at Parndon Mill and do the final stretch to Harlow Town Station.
For walkers needing to get back to Roydon afterwards, a short train ride is probably the best option (you will need to buy your own ticket).
There is paid parking at Roydon Station and free parking at the village car park in Beaumont Park Drive (a 10-minute walk away).
There are toilets at Harlow Town Station (plus many bushes along the route).
There are various refreshment options after the walk, both at Harlow and Roydon.
