This walk starts by the lovely Church at the heart of the village of Furneux Pelham.
After an exploration of the Church and open admiration of the Angels who support the roof - they are quite extraordinary- we shall walk to Bozen Geen, joining again the course of RR21.
As far as the rights of way and footpaths allow us, we shall then continue to chart the course of the road through this section of beautiful countryside. Along the way, we pass by a substantial Bronze Age bowl barrow, one of the few surviving in Hertfordshire.
We also walk through a graveyard of ancient farm equipment before entering Hormead Wood. Here, an evocative sighting of the Road is possible and, at the time of writing on the 18th April, evidence of a rare colony of Oxlip flowers, whose ancestors may have been brought to this location from the continent, as seeds, by past users of the road.
Like all country walks, there is a chance of muddy and wet parts, particularly if it rains a few days before the walk, so please take appropriate precautions.
