We are the Manchester and Salford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Salford Trail Walk 5 Roe Green to Walkden.
Initially on footpaths through woods, then an old colliery lane through open fields to join an former railway track passing Blackleach Reservoir (lunch). It's possible to leave the walk near here at the 37 bus stop.
Then across Ashton Fields, the site of an old colliery, to join a loopline back to Walkden station. No 20 bus stop and station.
Leader will walk back to the start, about 1.5 km.
The walk is flat, a couple of stiles, will be muddy with big puddles after any rain. Unsuitable for wheelchairs, push chairs or dogs. No toilets and a café only at the end.
Bus stop on the A580 near to Old Clough Lane. Get V1 or V2 bus from Manchester or Leigh. Some on street parking.
