This walk climbs on to high moorland paths and with average luck there will be great views and a breeze to blow the cobwebs away.
It is not suitable for absolute beginners or if you don't have proper clothing because we will be on high and very exposed moorland for the main part of the walk, on rough and wet paths. But if you are dressed for the elements and able to walk for about 5 hours this is a good introduction to Manchester Weekend Walkers as we have been happily walking this route every January for over 10 years.
This group leaves at a time to allow a moderate pace so most people with some country walking experience will get round with plenty of daylight left. We have two other groups, one leaving earlier for people who need a bit more time and one leaving later for those who are more regular walkers. All groups will cover the same route and we expect they will all catch each other up across the day and we will certainly all meet in the pub at the end.
No dogs please.
