Overview

We shall leave the Car Park at the Dry Hill Nature Reserve and proceed up largely gentle hills to Whitley Forest, Mill Bank and Pittfield Woods to join the Greensand Ridge.  We shall  follow the ridge to Ide Hill and enjoy sweeping views to Bewl Reservoir, the Weald and beyond if visibility permits.

Lunch will be a picnic on the Green at Ide Hill.  Time for refreshments at the local pub.  Pay toilets available next to the Community Shop.

Return shall be across fields, woods and country lanes enjoying views back to Ide Hill and across to the North Downs.

The walk is suitable for anyone who is reasonably fit.

Car Park, which is free, is off Dryhill Lane which is accessed by turning left (for the Cobdale Garden Centre) off the A25 going towards Westerham from Sevenoaks. The entrance to the Country Park and Car Park is about 400 yards on the left after the garden centre car parks. Please car share if possible.
