A spectacular walk with marvellous views, riverside walks and the towering edifice of Arundel castle.
The walk climbs up onto the South Downs Ridge from Amberley and we follow the ridge for a couple of miles before dropping down past the picturesque village of Burpham. From here we follow the River Arun to Arundel with varying views of the Castle as we get closer to our picnic lunch break, during which the group can explore the sights of the town and/or its hostelries and cafes.
The return trip will be through the pleasant vistas of the undulating Arundel Park before re-joining the river until we reach our starting point.
There are not any toilets at the start of the walk.
Being a walk on the South Downs there are a couple of sharp ascents and undulations.
