Overview

Along the Wansdyke for a short distance before heading down to Calstone Wellington and on to Cherhill.  Through the village and then a circuit towards Compton Bassett and back to Cherhill passing the site of the WWII airfield RAF Yatesbury.  We then head up the hill to Cherhill White Horse and Oldbury Hill Fort before heading back down to pick up the old Roman Road back to Smallgrain.  Please bring food and drink for 2 stops.  The walk can be shortened to around 8 miles in the event of inclement weather!  Dogs welcome.
