Overview

This walk will be led by Ged Leach.

From Warter the walk goes through Lavender Dale, on to join the Minster Way, the Rangers Way, returning to Warter via Tithe Top Farm and Great Dugdale.

Through the picturesque village, famous for its Augustinian Priory, dissolved in 1536 , the village church is now home to the Yorkshire Wolds Heritage Centre that showcases the history of the area including its Iron Age inhabitants. The walk passes through some picturesque dales, along the more cultivated areas along the Minster Way and Wold Rangers Way, past one of East Yorkshire's contributions to the whisky industry ( grain smoking plant ). It returns to Warter via Great Dugdale which has an incongruous large stone placed there by a landowner in a bygone age.
