Overview

Starting from Thorneyfields Lane this walk takes us towards Stafford Castle. From there we will go to the Millennium Green at Derrington where we might be able to pick a few apples or pears in the Community Orchard.

We then travel on to Bury Ring (an Iron Age hill fort), past the strawberry farm to return to our starting point.

We will stop for a short break during the walk so please bring your own refreshments.

Car park on Thorneyfields Lane, Stafford, off Sundown Drive. Please be aware that Thorneyfields Lane is in two unconnected parts. If travelling along the A518, don't turn down Thorneyfields Lane. Take the adjacent turning by the traffic lights, down Sundown Drive (also off the A518). This will take you to the second half of Thorneyfields Lane. The carpark is near the junction of Sundown Drive & Thorneyfields Lane (by the children's play area and football pitch).
