From the Cwmcarn Forest Visitors' Centre, we head out along the river and past the small lake, before starting the short (but steep) ascent of Twmbarlwm. On a good day, there are stunning views from the summit, across the River Severn to Bristol, and across the Brecons. From there it's all (pretty much) down hill, as we head along the ridge and drop down to the Place of Legends, before returning to the start point. There is a short (just under 1km) stretch on the road, where care will need to be taken but, otherwise, it's all fairly easy tracks and paths.
