Overview

A walk of two halves - Downs and Villages with the Ridgeway as a bonus! We head westerly along the Ridgeway passing Ridgeway Farm after which we head southwards across the Downs. Near Peaks Downs we turn back northwards passing Hinton Downs back to the Ridgeway. Then down to some very pretty villages. Look out for the assorted thatched birds and animals on the thatched cottages as we pass through Hinton Parva, Bishopstone and Idstone. Please bring a picnic, which will be in the Churchyard at Bishopstone. We skirt Ashbury and Kingstone Winslow before heading back towards the Ridgeway. On the way we walk through the spectacular Odstone Coombes. Note the walk leaving here to reach the D'Arcy Dalton Way is steep but we will take our time here admiring the view!
