Starting in the charming town of Pitlochry, this linear walk showcases the beauty of the River Tummel and its surrounding landscapes. The route leads you along tranquil riverside paths past the Clunie Dam and some stunning scenery to Green Metal Footbridge and back from there on the east shores of the river. The trail passes through peaceful woodlands, offering chances to encounter red squirrels and a variety of birdlife.
We will take the 8:41 am train to Stirling. We will change the train in Stirling and board the 9:26 am train to Pitlochry. Return trains are at 16:20 and 17:35.
Note that this is a linear walk to the bridge and back covering about 17km (10.5 miles).
Meet in front of ticket office in Glasgow Queen Street station. Please purchase a returns ticket to Pitlochry in advance.
