Overview

A circular walk starting just south of Van Post Cross. We walk northeasterly to Cobbacombe Cross with the nearby weather station then onto Burnt Plantation and the exceptional views over Bampton Down. Taking a westerly route we descend into Cove Valley and its rewildling project. If we are lucky we might spot White Storks (local colony), Beaver dams, Red Deer and Goshawk. We head south to the village of Cove and views towards the Exe Valley taking an uphill route through Crabtree Plantation to Gogwell Lane and Palfreys Barton returning to the car park near Van Post Cross.

This is a moderate walk with a steady climb towards the end.
