A lovely linear walk from Thixendale to Millington making use of the Wolds Explorer Bus Service 200.
The bus arrives at Thixendale at 11am and the walk starts on a steady ascent through the pretty valley of Thixen Dale before the descent to Uncleby and Kirby Underdale, affording fine views over the rolling Wolds. From Kirby Underdale there is a climb up the evocatively named Cheesecake Wold and along the tops of Worsen Dale and Bishop Wilton Wold to Great Givendale. The final part of the walk is through Given Dale and down The Balk into Millington.
The forecast for Saturday is very good, and this walk will showcase the Yorkshire Wolds promising fine views of the attractive surrounding area
The walk will utilise the weekend seasonal bus service 200 (East Yorkshire Motor Services) that runs from Pocklington to Thixendale. The timetable for this service shows connections to and from York, Beverley and Hull for those that can utilise bus services. Anyone that cannot utilise such transport links can meet at Millington to catch the bus to Thixendale
