Overview

BOOKING REQUESTED

From Compstall mill village there is a steady ascent for about an hour to Werneth Low with good views, mainly on minor roads and tracks. Then along lanes, tracks and fields to Romiley golf course, through woodland and down to the railway viaduct and up a steep flight of steps to the Peak Forest Canal, across the aqueduct, past Marple Locks and through Brabyns Park back to the car park.  Risk assessment: likely to be some muddy, slippery areas, care needed walking on minor roads and crossing a busy road, a few stiles, some livestock in fields.
