Overview

The walk passes through farms and pastures of the valley and offers spectacular views of Wolsingham before joining the Weardale Way.  A steady climb  on to the grouse moors at Sunnyside provides more great views before we descend to the railway and along the River Wear for a flat walk into Wolsingham.

From the A68, follow the B6296 into Wolsingham. After crossing the bridge over the Waskerley Beck, turn immediately sharp right into the Demesne Mill long-stay car park and picnic area (signposted). Note that parking charges now apply at this car park: £2 for 3 hours; £5 for 24 hours.
