Linear to Ilford Station led by Stephen R (Mobile on the day only: 07540 437466. A fairly level, stile-free walk following the River Roding as it wends its way below bridges carrying the M11 and North Circular Road. After a short road walk, we join the Roding Valley Walk at Ray Park with the possibility of a coffee stop at the James Leal Visitor Centre. The route continues, passing the Redbridge Reuse and Recycling Centre, then crossing below the spaghetti junction known locally as Charlie Brown’s Roundabout, before reaching the Eastern Avenue to cross the newly landscaped Redbridge Roundabout and take a series of interwar suburban roads past the former Port of London Authority Sports Ground to the glory that is Valentines Park with its Grade 2* listed mansion for lunch at the Gardener’s Cottage Café or bring a picnic.
