We walk from the car park (was free when programme was prepared) at Yatton Keynell Village Hall, a short distance along a road and then cross fields to Kent’s Bottom, West Yatton Down (part of nature reserve), across fields and tracks to Ford and then we climb up moderately steeply to Danks Down, along a quiet road to a bridle path leading to Nettleton Mill and through the golf course to the village of Castle Combe. From Castle Combe we return to Yatton Keynell via Long Dean and West Yatton and a further part of West Yatton Down, where there usually is a good selection of flora and fauna to be seen.
Some fairly gentle hills in addition to the quite long and moderate climb up from Ford.
There is likely to be livestock en route.
A few stiles.
Bring refreshments for 2 stops.
