Overview

This is a circular walk exploring the beautiful North Wessex Downs, close to the Hampshire-Wiltshire border. The beginning of the walk takes us up and over into the lovely Hippenscombe Valley. Following the Valley, we stop for our morning break before climbing the downs to enjoy fine views which stretch as far as the Vale of Pewsey. We then descend into the the hamlet of Tidcombe where we will have lunch. On our return journey , we stick to the high ground admiring the Valley from on high. We cross the Chute Causeway (a Roman Road) before visiting Fosbury and its enigmatic Iron Age enclosure.
