Another opportunity to walk in the area around Cotgrave Country Park, taking in parkland, woodland, fields, a village, a canal, a lake, and some hills. Given the season, there may be some mud, ice, or snow, but the majority of paths are good, and suitable for Winter rambling. If we are blessed with a clear day we should enjoy good views of the Trent Valley and Nottingham city centre.
Coffee and lunch stops and cover for comfort breaks, but unfortunately no toilets en route. Customers of the Shepherds Rest may use their facilities.
Please keep any dogs on a lead during this walk.
Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website where you will also find details of our car share scheme.
To protect the environment, we encourage car sharing and public transport. For the adventurous amongst you the 9.10 90A bus from Fernwood calls at Newark, Farndon, Bingham, and Cropwell Bishop and then along Stragglethorpe Road past the Park and Ride to stop at Holme House which is a half mile walk back down the road to the start point.
