Overview

A train ride to Belper from Newark Castle station and a walk of 6 miles to Duffield station for the return train journey.  The walk takes us through open country with superb views linking together historic settlements.  There are 2 steady climbs.

The train leaves Newark Castle station at 8.14 and arrives in Belper at 9.47.  If you would like to travel on the same train from Lowdham, it goes at 8.26.

For the return journey we are aiming for the 15.41 from Duffield which arrives in Newark at 17.01 (Lowdham at 16.44).  If we miss that train, the next one deplarts at 16.40.

An Anytime Day Return with a railcard is £9.10.
