We are the Manchester and Salford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A pleasant easy woodland walk through Alkrington Woods. Mostly in the woodland with good marked paths with a small amount of road side walking. Also takes in Alkrington Hall, pleasant large ponds with wildlife and streams.
One uphill section out of the back end of the woods up to Rochdale Road, then uphill Rochdale Road to rejoin the woods. Approx 300yards of uphill activity.
Moss Lane Bus Stop, Alkrington which is the 2nd stop after the bus crosses Victoria Avenue on Rochdale Rd. Buses 17 or 18 from Shudehill (Runs every 10mins) Or Bus 163 from Manchester Piccadilly, alight at the same stop as the 17/18. For Car Parking use Mainway in Alkrington.
