There is a limit of 20 people for this walk and booking is essential. Please book by email after 2 April 2025.
The walk comprises parts of stages 8 and 9 of the Capital Ring.
The walk starts at Hanwell Station on the Elizabeth Line and we meet at the Campbell Road exit. There are station toilets.
We initially follow the course of the River Brent and then pass through Perivale Park where we will stop for a banana break. We then continue to the Grand Union Canal. We leave the Canal for Horsenden Hill. We shall lunch in the grounds of Horsenden Hill visitor centre. Sadly refreshments are only served at weekends so please bring a packed lunch. Toilet facilities should be available.
After lunch we climb the hill to its summit at a height of 85 metres. If there has been rain in the days before the walk it has the potential to be muddy so boots should be worn. We then make our way to Sudbury Hill station on the Piccadilly line where the walk ends. There should be toilet facilities at the station but as I continued the walkover to South Kenton I did not check.
There are numerous potential drop out points with Greenford Station being about half way. All stations are within Zone 4.
