Cafe Benor is 5 minutes from Lea Bridge Railway Station and bus stops are closer. The cafe takes cash only and it has a toilet.
After coffee we have an optional walk, starting at 11.00. We go past Lea Valley Riding Centre and around the marshes. For a shorter walk, it's possible to drop out and return past the riding centre, back to the station and buses (1¾ miles). We cross the river and pass toilets in Springfield Park, at the top of the hill. It's also possible to drop out here and walk a short distance for 253 and 254 buses to Overground and Tube stations. (2 miles). We continue back alongside the marshes and go through Walthamstow Wetlands, where there are toilets and a possibility of tea at the visitor centre. The walk finishes at Tottenham Hale Station.
Walking shoes or walking boots are recommended, as we cross some rough ground and there could be mud in places. We will avoid very muddy and waterlogged areas.
Bring a picnic if you plan to walk beyond the riding centre.
Cafe Benor, 183 Lea Bridge Road, E10 7PN. The cafe is 5 minutes from Lea Bridge Railway Station, and 55/56 bus stops are closer. Trains run between Stratford (platforms 11 & 12) and Tottenham Hale. On leaving the station, turn right and walk to the pedestrian crossing at the junction with Lea Bridge Road. Turn left, cross Argall Way and continue past Lea Bridge Cycles and the bus stop. The cafe is a few doors after crossing Burwell Road.
