An easy 5 mile walk through the pretty Cotswold village of Castle Coombe, passing 15th century Cotswold stone cottages with steep gabled roofs surrounding a turreted church, a stone-canopied market cross, a fast flowing stream in the main street leading to an ancient packhorse bridge and a perfectly picturesque river. From the village we continue winding through the valley alongside the river, with fields of wild garlic, returning along country lanes back to the start.
Some walks f the tracks through the river valley may be muddy and slippery after rain, so boots and gaiters recommended.
Castle Coombe visitor car park, Dunn's Lane. Parking is £2.00 for 3 hours, (pay by credit card), or £2.40 for 4 hours if you want to continue to look around the village after the walk.
