The walk is 5.5 miles, with 700 ft of ascent. It's an easy walk with mainly level paths and no steep climbs, using paths through fields and woods, with some lane walking. The walk passes through Combs village and alongside the scenic Combs Reservoir and has some good views towards the Peak District.
The toilets at Taxal Church (near the end) may be open, otherwise there are pubs and cafes in Whaley Bridge. Expected finish time around 2 pm with a moderate pace.
