Overview

Cracken Edge Quarries and Chinley Churn. The walk starts with a steady but not steep climb on tracks and field paths to Cracken Edge, then contours along under the Edge passing disused quarries as far as Higher Hills Cottage. We make a further short climb onto the ridge, then a gradual descent, passing behind the Chinley Churn trig point, and returning to Chinley via Throstle Bank and Hollin Wood.
