Starting with a brief tour of Well Hall Pleasaunce to see its Tudor barn, then following a planned but never adopted section of the Green Chain to arrive at the eastern corner of Blackheath. We will cross the heath (and Meridian line!) from east to west, a distance of well over a mile, stopping briefly en route for a drinks break. Descending into the streets of Greenwich after passing the great view from The Point. Across a corner of Greenwich park with lunch taken in the centre, benches and toilets available, bring your own picnic as cafe's likely to be busy. Lots of steps down in the Thames foot-tunnel to emerge on the Isle of Dogs, then following the eastern river bank to finish at Canary Wharf.
A mostly level walk on surfaced paths but with some steps in places. Possible drop out at Greenwich after 5 miles (DLR / Nat. Rail / riverboat)
Toilets are available at Eltham station before exiting barriers.
