Overview

This is the second section of the London to Brighton long distance trail. Starting with a walk through the Kingswood estate, the route soon crosses heathland to reach the village of Headley, which will be the lunch stop (please bring a picnic). Thereafter the route continues through picturesque rolling hills and woods to reach Juniper Top and then the summit of Box Hill, which offers views over Surrey and Sussex to the South Downs. There will be a stop here for toilets and refreshments. The route down Box Hill is steep and you may wish to bring a walking pole. The route is generally on good tracks but there is the possibility of mud in places.

Recommended train: London Bridge 9.40, East Croydon 9.58, Kingswood 10.31.
