Overview

This walk starts through the access land of Fairmile Bottom then up to Houghton Forest to join the Monarch's Way and follow it down to Houghton, along the River Arun then climbing quite steeply up to Arundel Park where there are great views. We continue to the top of Arundel where there is the possibility of a brief stop for an afternoon drink. After dropping almost to the river we take a steady climb west through Rewell Wood and back down to the start. This is a hilly walk but the views make it well worth the effort.

By bridleway sign on long lay-by on Fairmile Bottom. This is the second lay-by on the left of the A29, when travelling from Whiteways, or the first on the right if approaching from Slindon. There should be ample parking here but do be aware that this is a busy fast moving road.
