Leaving from the large National Trust car park at Frensham Little Pond, it starts off along the pond edge, then across the common. Generally leisurely but with one short ascent and descent at Stony Jump Hill, but well worth it for the wonderful views from the top. The walk continues along the high ground with views of both Frensham Ponds.
The pond is a medieval bishops' fish pond, set amidst heathland which is internationally important for its variety of rare and endangered wildlife.
The Tern Café at Frensham Little Pond serves a selection of snacks, cakes and bakes and hot and cold drinks. There is seating outside only. Hot food is served from 10.30am. There is a 25p discount for using your own cup.
Well-controlled dogs are welcome. Dogs are not permitted to swim in the pond in order to protect the wildlife. Please keep on leads while birds are nesting (March to September). Dog waste bins are provided in the two main car parks.
