Strenuous

Distance:

11 miles

1830 feet

The walk will start at Glossop station after the arrival of the 09.29 from Manchester Piccadilly due at 10.19.

Note: walkers are advised to check one of the rail websites such as nationalrail or trainline close to the departure time in case of late changes to the running of the train.

As you will know, Sunday travel on Northern Rail is currently plagued by cancellations. Often these are posted on Saturday so please check to see if the 9.29 is running - it has been cancelled more often than not in recent weeks. If it is cancelled we will catch the 10.03. It seems that one of these two trains always runs.

Cancellations also hit the return service from Hadfield but these will be taken into account and the route shortened if necessary to ensure that we do not have to endure too long a wait between trains.

Train ticket - both stations are within the Greater Manchester boundary so the best ticket will depend on concessions &/ other journeys made on the day.

Car parking is available near both stations.

Walk route - Glossop, Swineshaw Reservoir, Bottoms Reservoir, Tintwistle Low Moor, Arnfield Reservoir, Hadfield.

Expected time into Hadfield - no later than 4.30pm
