This is a 8.5 mile circular walk starting from Grassington National Park Centre. We will head out through the village along the Dales Way which on a clear day has lovely views over the valley.
We will walk down Conistone Dib, which will involve a short scramble then a rocky path to the bottom which is quite steep. The rocks maybe slippy after wet weather. Care will be needed, we will climb down at a steady pace and look out for each other. If it is wet and slippy, we may take an alternative path avoiding the Dib, however this will increase the walk distance slightly.
Lunch will be at the bottom of the dib before walking through Conistone. There is a short section of road walking. Whilst the road is quiet, care should be taken looking out for traffic and cyclists.
We then pick up the path through Grass Wood then walk along the river back to Grassington.
There are numerous pubs and cafes in Grassington for post walk refreshments.
Please read the description carefully and ensure the walk is suitable for you, please contact me with any queries.
The roads approaching Grassington can be slow with cyclists etc and the car park can be busy at times, resulting in queues to pay for parking. Please allow ample time to arrive, pay for parking and use the facilities. There are no toilets en-route.
Meet by the bus shelter to the right of the visitor centre. The walk will start promptly at 10.30am.
