Overview

A rare architectural treat is in store on this walk.  Taking a quiet road out of Gunnerton village, we pass Chipchase Castle, a 17th century Jacobean mansion (with an earlier pele tower).  We reach the banks of the River North Tyne before returning to the Grade II listed chapel of ease at St. Christopher's.  A visit to this church (built in 1899) is an opportunity to appreciate the fine details of the Arts and Craft movement that inspired its design.
