Overview

A favourite Cheviot walk combining St Cuthbert's Way and Iron Age remains.

From Wooler Common we follow St. Cuthbert’s Way west across the heather moorlands and then  climb up Yeavering Bell, topped by its magnificent Iron Age hill fort. We should have breathtaking views from here - an ideal lunch spot!  Our return is via White Law, around the base of Harehope Hill and onto Humbleton Hill and hill fort trail.

The terrain is mostly good on moorland paths and well marked trails with several moderate ascents and descents.

Refreshments in the bar/bistro at the Ad Gefrin visitor attraction and distillery in Wooler.

This is a joint walk with Ponteland ramblers.
