Start: 9.30 am from Hartington Market Place. Free parking is normally available at the market place. Alternatively, pay parking is at Hartington CP (53.1393N 1.8112W, on the road to Warslow): Accepts cash or Pay-by-Phone, but not cards. Public toilets available near start of walk.
From Hartington, we go towards Morson Wood, then Beresford Dale and Wolfscote Dale until Coldeaton Bridge, then continue to Milldale. A short steep ascent onto Shining Tor, then onward to join the Tissington Trail at Alsop Station. Continue on Tissington Trail for about three miles, then come off towards Greenhead and Dalehead, from where we descend down the dale into Biggin Dale and walk towards Dale End. Then we follow Highfield Lane, and subsequently across the fields back to Hartington. Around 12.4 miles and 1365 ft ascent according to OS Maps, mostly easy to moderate, except for the short steep ascent at Milldale.
