Overview

Our walk starts at Ireland Moor carpark  SO 14704 48499. We head East towards Bryngwyn Hill which we skirt before turning West on a byway towards Allt Dderw.  Next up is the ascent to the trig point on Red Hill before descending to cross the Painscastle road. Then continuing West we reach the Dancing Ground before turning East to return to the cars.

At the point where we cross the Painscastle road there is an option to shorten the walk to 7 miles.

A parking layby denoted by large stones, on the small single track road to Painscastle. This can be approached either from the Painscastle side or Aberedw/Hundred House areas. If this is full there should be ample parking on the grass by the side of the road. NB: Should the weather turn inclement, e.g. ice/snow, it will not be possible to do the walk. Please check with walk leader in this instance.
