Overview

The walk is flat, with three sets of steps, it follows a lane, farmland, footpaths and through parks.

From Irlam Station the walk goes down some steps into the Art Park. From there it’s a short walk along Liverpool Road before turning left at St Teresa’s Church into Astley Road leading onto Chat Moss. The footpath goes up steps to cross a footbridge over the M62, then heads towards the A57. The route crosses the A57 and goes into Princes Park where there are seats, a café and toilets.

Walk through the park, carefully cross a road and into the Linear Park, watch out for tree roots, may be muddy if it’s rained. From the Linear Park cross the A57 at the pedestrian crossing and walk up Station Road back to the station where there are refreshments and toilets.
