We are the East Hertfordshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Starting from Watton-at-stone's Station we pass the investigated site of a suspected iron - age enclosure before arriving at a secluded wood. Then after we walk by the spectacular Frogmore Hall, we climb a hill to be rewarded with a lofty view of Stevenage. We head back to Watton - an Anglo -Saxon settlement- passing the Church and the town's high Street.
We pass through lovely countryside throughout this walk.
There is parking in the roads behind and near the station. Watton itself has a pub; The Bull: https://www.thebullwatton.co.uk/ that serves lunchtime refreshments as well as 2 cafes: The Country Farm Cafe and Crumbs https://crumbsbakery.co.uk/
The station is easy to find and we will meet at the front of the station. Parking is available behind the station and in nearby roads. Please do not park on Watton Road, as this is a main thoroughfare.
