Oswestry Ramblers welcome people who enjoy walking and the countryside. We walk twice a week mainly in Shropshire and Wales and help improve local footpaths.
A circular walk starting close to Lake Vyrnwy taking in footpaths, roads and forest tracks,including a short section of Glyndwr's Way.The route may need to be slightly adapted in the final recce to avoid the scheduled forestry work being undertaken. Two longer inclines are incorporated into the route, with the first of these taking the walk onto the hill (Llechwedd Du ) overlooking the lake, and the second , ascending via the Lake Vyrnwy Blue Route up towards Campbell's bench viewpoint, providing a great view of the Lake on clear days.Please bring lunch and snacks for the 2 stops we will take. Please ensure you have sufficient drinks in case it is a hot day.We do not intend to walk through any fields but there are be some sections where there is longer grass.
