Kerry Ridgeway
Kerry Ridgeway is an old droving route, chosen by drovers taking Welsh livestock to English markets across the notorious Welsh Borders. Higher than a thousand feet above sea- level, the far-reaching views stretch across two countries and the Severn and Teme valleys. The route drops deep into rarely visited valleys, with lanes so infrequently used that grass grows down the middle, and buzzard, curlew, and kite calls fill the air, before climbing the bilberry and heather-clad
Cilfaesty and Bryn Coch hills. With a brief diversion, you may spot the bubbling source of the River Teme. If the weather is good we can truly savour the route's final 2-mile view-tastic extravaganza.
Bring refreshments and a packed lunch for 2 stops.
