Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform, at Piccadilly station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train or at the station in Marple. 

Transport to Walk Start: 10:18 train from Manchester Piccadilly (final destination Marple).

Suggested Ticket: Off-Peak Day Return to Marple £7.

Walk Start: Marple railway station at 10:45.

Waypoints: Etherow Country Park, Werneth Low Golf Course, Romiley Golf Course, Peak Forest Canal, Marple Viaduct.

Return Services: x:16/17 until 17:17, 18:07, 19:17, 20:17, 21:32, 22:17, 23:17, 23:49.

Extra: No toilets at walk start. Toilets en route after one mile at Etherow Park. A pub stop is planned for drinks en route at the Hare & Hounds. Optional pub visit at the end of the walk.

This route is mainly on good paths, although it can be slightly muddy when wet. The route includes the sights of Marple's viaduct and adjacent aqueduct. There is a bail out option when the route passes close to Romiley railway station after six miles.
