We are the West London Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A short walk from Chipstead station we enter Banstead Wood, climb a large hill and emerge from the wood at Perrotts Farm. From here it is attractive rolling countryside bounded by patches of wood until we reach the margins of Banstead town. We skirt Banstead and join the LOOP for a short section to Oaks Park and Mayfield Lavender Farm.
We will a take generous hour’s break here to allow everyone to enjoy refreshments at the café, make use of the public facilities, and explore the nearby Mayfield Lavender Farm, hopefully in full bloom.
Leaving the lavender farm we have a 50 minute walk to Woodmansterne station (Zone 6) for trains to London Bridge (change at East Croydon for Victoria).
Bring a picnic lunch, we will make a lunch stop in fields en route to the farm. Mobile on the day only 07513 185770.
Train: departs Victoria 10:08 to Purley (change at Purley for Chipstead train departing 10:44 from platform 6, back 4 carriages). Alternatively, take the direct train from London Bridge departing 10:10. Ticket: Oyster Card Zone 6.
